Abstraction is the American Academy of Art's student-produced art and literary magazine. We are currently accepting applications for the Abstraction Student Committee and will be re-launching the magazine in Spring 2020. Stay tuned for submission information!

Abstraction Re-Launch Informational Meeting

What: An informational, brainstorming meeting about re-launching Abstraction Magazine. We'll be talking about different ideas, formats, and themes along with brainstorming what students want Abstraction to be. We'll have examples of other unique magazines, brainstorming questions, and applications for those interested in serving on the Abstraction Student Committee to create and launch the magazine in Spring 2020. Bring your best questions and ideas!

When: Tuesday, April 23, 12:30-1:30

Application Forms

The Abstraction Student Committee is the organization that runs Abstraction Magazine. Committee membership is voluntary and not paid, however, members of the Committee are expected to have a high level of commitment and self-led motivation in order to ensure Abstraction Magazine is sustainable. The Committee is supported by two faculty chairs, the Chair of Humanities & Sciences and the Librarian.
